About our Casual Catered Clambake

TABLES, CHAIRS AND LINENS: Tables and chairs are optional. In most cases, the Casual-style Clambake works very well with just casual, informal seating arrangements. We recommend you do not plan linen table covers or napkins for a Casual-style party. If you feel you absolutely MUST have tables, we strongly recommend you request the 8' banquet tables rather than round tables. That way, we can provide a checkered plastic table cover for you at nominal cost.

IF YOU ARE HAVING A BEACH PARTY, PLAN FOR BEACH CHAIRS OR BLANKETS instead of tables and chairs which tend to be unstable in the sand and could tip over causing injury to your guests. Beach chairs can be rented from a supplier on the Vineyard. For rental contact information, please click on the "Recommended Suppliers" button at the bottom of the Home page.

LOCATION: Where are you are planning to have your party? Will it be in your home or rental house, in a rental hall, outside in your yard or a rental spot, or on the beach?

If you are planning a beach location, be sure to check with us to determine if your proposed beach is on the approved list. If it is a public beach, you will also have to get necessary permits. Click on the "Beach Permits Information" button on our home page for more details.

COOKING TENT: If the weather is predicted to be inclement, we will need either a 20x20 foot cooking tent with side panels or some place under cover to prepare food. This is needed whether you plan an indoor function or one outside. Your food and service items MUST be protected from wind, rain, etc. If your budget is tight, you can RESERVE the tent instead of ordering it. That way if the weather is sunny and calm, you can cancel the reservation and avoid the cost.

TENT FOR YOUR GUESTS: As with almost all island resorts, Martha's Vineyard weather can be unpredictable. If you are planning an outdoor event, then consider RENTING A TENT of the appropriate size to protect your guests from inclement weather. They also appreciate an open-sided tent out of the sun in good weather. Size the tent to comfortably seat your guests.
