THE CASUAL STYLE Clambake is designed
for a very casual, relaxed get together of friends, family or co-workers. It is also wonderful for business functions where
you want people relaxed and comfortable. A Casual-style
Clambake is perfect for a Rehearsal Dinner where you want
strangers to become acquainted in a relaxed atmosphere. Although both the Formal Catered and the Casual Catered Clambakes are buffet style food service, the traditional Casual Catered buffet is served on Chinet platters (a very heavy duty paper that will not bend or fold when laden with food), paper napkins, paper cups, plastic cutlery, etc. The Casual Catered Clambake does not require tables or chairs, though sometimes they are requested. IF rectangular or round tables are used, don't forget linens, or other table coverings. |
|
*Plan on beach chairs and/or blankets if you
are having a beach party. Tables and chairs do not work well in soft sand |
|
THERE ARE A NUMBER OF ITEMS you should consider when planning a Clambake. We have
listed some of these things and some helpful hints to assist you in your
preparation. |
|
|
TYPE OF PARTY: Formal or Casual |
|
| If you are
planning one of our fabulous clambakes as a Reception Dinner after a
wedding, or as a dinner for your corporate Directors or major
shareholders; as a special anniversary party (50th Anniversary, 75th
Birthday, etc.) or something of a similar nature, then by all means,
go ahead with the
Formal
Catered type function. For most purposes, our clients find the more laid-back, casual, "picnic style" party a better option, especially if you are bringing strangers together and want to make it more easy for them to intermingle and get acquainted (such as at a wedding rehearsal party). |
|
Where will your Party be Held? |
|
| Will it be at your home or rental cottage, in a hall, or at the beach? If you are planning a beach location, be sure to check with us to determine if your proposed beach is on the approved list. If it is a public beach, you may have to get permits from township or county authorities. Click on the "Beach Permits Information" at the top of this page for more details. |
|
| IF YOU ARE HAVING A BEACH PARTY,
YOU SHOULD PLAN FOR AN ALTERNATE,OFF-BEACH, LOCATION IN CASE OF BAD WEATHER. |
|
How Many will Attend? |
|
| For a Casual Catered Clambake, we have been forced to institute a minimum price. We charge on a per-plate basis, and this minimum is the equivalent of 15 Adult Guests for parties on Mondays through Thursdays and the equivalent of 20 Adult Guests on Fridays through Sundays. We can cater your event for a smaller group but will be required to charge this minimum fee. There is no maximum fee. For smaller groups looking for a very casual experience, we recommend our fun and unique Clambake-to-Go. | |
Reserving Your Preferred Date |
|
| There are
certain dates that are ALMOST always booked up early. Among
these dates are those around the 4th of July (particularly that
weekend) and Labor Day weekend. You can also expect the first
three Saturdays in August to be booked by mid-July at the latest. We sometime do have cancelations, so if you are booking late you can try for the date you want. To be guaranteed your date, however, we very strongly recommend making your reservation early. |
